Move On Officer

Job Introduction

Temporary Accommodation Move on Officer

Pay Grade: SO1

2 x Full-Time Fixed term 12 months

A number of new posts have arisen within the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Temporary Accommodation, and we are now looking for experienced and committed individuals to join us as Move On Officers.

As a Move on Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting households to transition from temporary accommodation into sustainable, longer-term housing. You will be responsible for managing a caseload of clients, developing personalised move-on plans, and working in partnership with internal and external agencies to secure appropriate housing options.

Ideally, you will have experience in housing or homelessness services, and a good understanding of housing pathways, welfare benefits, and support networks available to vulnerable residents. You will need to work independently and use a strengths-based approach to help customers achieve positive outcomes.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment. You will be expected to build strong working relationships with private landlords, housing associations, support providers, and other council departments.

You will also be customer-focused, resilient, and motivated by making a difference to people’s lives. A flexible, solution-focused approach and the ability to think creatively will be essential.
