Families Information Officer

The Greenwich Families information Service is requiring cover for maternity leave within the team. This is a fixed term post until March 2026.

As a Families Information Officer, you will be part of a busy but friendly team handling enquiries on a broad range of subjects, including, but not limited to, childcare, available financial support, activities, school admissions and family support services.

The team are also integral to our Family Hubs network and as part of this role would be required to organise and manage your own outreach programme within the community, engaging and supporting residents to access services on offer whilst maintaining close working relationships with our Family Hubs and Children’s Centres colleagues, health, local community groups and schools.

You will need a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate in plain English via various mediums including updating web-based information on our Greenwich Community Directory.

A confident knowledge of IT packages is essential as well as the ability to manage your own time.  

You must also appreciate the need for discretion and the importance of confidentiality, be able to work flexibly as part of a team and on your own initiative.

This is a hybrid position, split between remote working, The Woolwich Centre, and various locations throughout the borough on outreach.

An enhanced DBS Disclosure will be undertaken on the successful person before appointment is confirmed.
