Town Centre Manager (2 year Fixed Term Contract)

The Town Centre Manager role is a unique opportunity to lead on the sustainable growth, vibrancy, and strategic development for the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s most iconic and diverse town centres including Woolwich, Greenwich, and Eltham. You will have extensive experience in economic development, stakeholder engagement, and cross-departmental coordination. This is an ambitious agenda and you should be excited to drive forward the development of our town centres.

This role demands strong leadership in shaping the physical, economic, and social environments of our town centres. You will need to be proactive and solutions-driven with excellent stakeholder skills.  Experience in overseeing capital project delivery, working within multi-disciplinary teams, and working with consultants to deliver high-quality outcomes that reflect the needs and aspirations of local communities.

You will be responsible for establishing Business Improvement Districts and be managing the delivery of a diverse events programmes within the town centre. You will have a track record of forging strong strategic partnerships and working across services such as highways, community safety, events, and licensing to deliver joined-up and impactful results. Your ability to monitor outcomes using key town centre statistics and produce clear, evidence-based reports will key for senior management.

You will be passionate about fostering collaboration between the council, businesses, residents, and partner agencies acting as a bridge and champion for collective success. With a strong understanding of heritage, place identity, and sustainability, you will be committed to making our town centres welcoming, attractive, and safe spaces for all.

This role is more than a job it’s a chance to shape the everyday experience of thousands of people and leave a lasting legacy in the borough.

You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft suite, including Excel and other data software.
