Practice Development Lead

Job Introduction

New Team. New Vision. New Leadership. New Opportunities.

Are you ready to shape the future of Adult Social Care in Royal Greenwich?

We’re building something bold and brilliant — a brand-new Practice and Workforce Development Team with a clear mission: to elevate practice, empower professionals, and deliver outstanding outcomes for our residents. At the heart of this transformation is a new leadership vision, and we’re looking for a Practice Development Lead to help bring it to life.

About the Role

This is not just another job — it’s a chance to lead, influence, and innovate. As our Practice Development Lead, you’ll be a key driver of quality, learning, and professional development across adult social care. You’ll:

  • Champion strengths-based, person-centred practice through robust quality assurance and case file audits.
  • Lead on continuous professional development for Adult social workers, Occupational Therapists, and social care staff — from ASYE to apprenticeships and beyond.
  • Design and deliver engaging workshops, reflective forums, and learning resources that inspire and inform.
  • Collaborate across Health and Adult Services including frontline teams, provider services, and partner agencies to embed best practice and drive improvement.
  • Embrace digital innovation and new technologies to enhance practice and learning.
  • Support the development of our Social Care Practice Academy and career pathways.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a qualified social worker with:

  • Extensive experience in adult social care and post-qualifying accredited training.
  • Practice Educator training and a passion for supporting learners.
  • A confident, creative approach to quality assurance, mentoring, and training delivery.
  • The ability to work across boundaries — with operational teams, partners, providers, and residents.
  • A commitment to co-production, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a new team with fresh energy and ambition.
  • Work under a new manager who values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Help shape a forward-thinking culture that puts learning and quality at the centre.
  • Make a real difference to the lives of residents and the future of adult social care in Greenwich.
