We’re looking for professional, experienced, suitably qualified, and compassionate individual to join our very busy, highly skilled Public Mortuary Team within our Bereavement Services.
The Greenwich Public Mortuary (GPM) provides mortuary provision and supports the Inner London South Coroner’s Consortium consisting of Lewisham, Lambeth, RBG and Southwark Local Authorities.
At Greenwich Public Mortuary we operate to high standards, in accordance with the HTA requirements, codes of practice and departmental standards and protocols. We regularly prepare for our HTA inspections by maintaining high standards of quality by conducting audits, formulating risk assessments/ SOPs and investigating incidents.

The Role
As a Mortuary Support Worker, you will assist with delivering a sensitive and caring service for bereaved people, partners, visitors and stakeholders on behalf of Royal Borough of Greenwich and neighbouring authorities. You will support the Mortuary Manager and colleagues in accordance with HTA requirements and with relevant legislation, guiding principles and codes of practice.
On a daily basis you will assist with coordinating service delivery to ensure mortuary provision is maintained during any refurbishment and upgrades to the facility. Assist with the admission and release of patients and update all the relevant electronic and paper-based systems to meet the HTA regulations and guiding principles.

For all roles within our Mortuary Services, you will need to be highly motivated, compassionate, understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality, have excellent communication/interpersonal skills, be well organised, be able to take direction from the Mortuary Manager, remain professional during post-mortems and present to clinical staff.
