AARRC Practitioner
Royal Greenwich Children in Care and Care Leavers’ Services is an exciting place to work right now. Join us at our newly established short-term residential-based service focussed on improving stability and outcomes for children and young people aged 11-17; and play an important role in delivering this new and innovative service directly improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
The Adolescent Assessment Resource and Residential Centre (the AARRC), will deliver a multi-disciplinary service to children and young people who are either in or ‘at risk’ of entering the care system (and where appropriate to their families and their wider support network), where AARRC Practitioners and managers will:
- Provide a Children’s Home for (up to 6) children and young peoplerequiringmulti-disciplinary assessments of needs, bridging placements or emergency accommodation.
- Undertake rigorous assessments to reduce unplanned moves and improve placement stability for children and young people.
- Provide multi-disciplinary and impactful services to improve outcomes for children and young people including therapeutic services which will contribute to better outcomes.
- Ease the number of new care-entrants by providing ‘edge of care’ services and to address crises and reunify children and young people with their families where it is safe and in their best interests to do so.
Our new practice model ensures that we are best placed to deliver on the priorities for children and young people centred around systemic practice and restorative and compassion informed approaches.
We are looking for AARRC Practitioners to deliver a high-quality service for children and young people residing in the centre. Working through your respective team, you will develop this innovative new service, ensuring a first-class service delivering brilliant outcomes for children, young people and families.
You will be joining a genuine value driven Children’s Service’s directorate which is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted with a strong, inclusive and accessible leadership.
You will have adequate experience of direct work with children, young people and families with targeted or complex needs and will have the ability to support with compassion and care ensuring the best possible outcomes for the children and young people with whom you work.

Royal Greenwich offers good remuneration with additional monthly payment for early start and/or late finish including weekend days and odd nights. Additional support including a generous holiday allowance; a diverse workforce and an inclusive working environment is also provided.
This role requires and Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List.
