Are you passionate about making a difference for children with special educational needs? Thorntree Primary School is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENDCo to join our supportive, committed and enthusiastic team.
About the Role:
We are seeking to appoint an experienced teacher for the role of SENDCo, someone who has the required SEN experience, and/or the appropriate qualifications, to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and developing the SEND provision for 3 days per week and will have a key role in ensuring our pupils with SEND receive the support they need to thrive.
Our goal is to ensure all children benefit from an inclusive education and achieve well within our ‘Grow & Learn’ vision. A key foundation of our successful school are our strong values and this supports our inclusive ethos.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) & NASENCO qualification
- Have previous experience and exceptional understanding of teaching in the primary phase
- Be an exemplary practitioner with a proven record of expertise in supporting children with special educational needs.
- Have an excellent understanding of the SEN code of practice & White Paper
- Have experience of writing EHCP and funding applications
- Have a commitment to inclusive education and the highest standards for all pupils
- Have both an excellent understanding of pupil progress and a be open to new approaches to learning and teaching
- Have strong organisational and communication skills
- Have experience of line managing LSA’s
- Be an excellent team player
