Midday Meals Supervisor
Required to start September 2026, 7.5 hours per week, term time plus 5 staff training days
Salary Royal Greenwich Scale 1, point 2 - FTE £28,221 - Actual salary £5,273, pay award pending
11:45-13:15pm Monday – Friday, 12 month Fixed Term Contract
We are looking to appoint a Midday meals Supervisor to engage with the children during lunchtime and ensure a safe and healthy environment for them. You will work under the direction of the Headteacher. Christ Church is an over-subscribed school, which has an excellent reputation locally. The school is situated on the edge of Oxleas Woods on Shooters Hill. The school was inspected by Ofsted in November 2023 and rated as ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ personal development. Vacant posts rarely arise.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
• Supervision and the management of pupils during the midday break in the dining area, about the school premises and in the playground as necessary.
• To provide an exemplar model to other members of the team using fair and consistent handling of the children in a calm and positive manner.
• Ensure that Health and Safety practices and procedures affecting pupils are maintained during the Midday Break.
• Encourage independence, promote suitable play and deal with issues as they arise in a transparently fair, and consistent manner in accordance with school policies.
Experience of dealing with SEN children would be advantageous but not essential as they will have dedicated support where required and training would be provided. Attendance required on staff training days (hours may differ) would be paid (where additional), at your usual hourly rate.
