The Royal Borough of Greenwich is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Level 2 Social Worker to join the Learning Disability Team. The focus of the role is on completing Community Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) applications to the Court of Protection.
The role involves carrying out capacity assessments, participating in best interest meetings, and working closely with other professionals, carers, families, and service users throughout the application process. You will need to demonstrate strong report writing skills, particularly in preparing clear and accurate documentation for submission to the Court of Protection. A sound understanding of current legal frameworks and emerging case law is essential, as is the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
Applicants must be qualified Social Workers, registered with Social Work England, and have at least five years of post-qualification experience. Experience in adult social care or safeguarding is particularly relevant. A Best Interest Assessor qualification is preferred but not required.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. The position is based at the Woolwich Centre with flexible hybrid working options available.
