   Learning Support Mentor 

                                                       Required from February 2026

32.5 hours per week

8:30 – 3:30 ½ hour lunch

39 weeks per year

APT&C Scale 3 point 5 – 6 (£29,436.00 - £29,856.00)

Pro-rata £ - £24,145.93 - £24,490.45

Term time only, permanent   

 

We are an ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ (Nov 24) two-form entry primary school within the Ambition Federation of Schools. We are looking for a Learning Support Mentor to start as soon as possible. It is desirable if candidates have experience within SEN, however not essential. We have an opportunity for a suitable experienced person to work as part of our Learning and Achievement team supporting pupils in the Early Years or Primary.  We have a commitment to ensure that all of our pupils are ready for success in their next stage of life and welcome applicants who are highly motivated and with high expectations for all.  

We are looking for someone who is:

  • NVQ level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent 
  • Able to encourage learning and development with care and the highest expectation
  • Are able to enable children to build their literacy, language and numeracy skills.
  • Can follow a programme of intervention to close gaps and support progress
  • Can support the teacher and monitor progress
  • Are able to support children with a range of needs and willing to undertake training to further this 
  • Can undertake any other duties as reasonably directed by the Manager
  • A team player; dedicated to working collaboratively and building positive relationships 
  • Able to safeguard children and support their well-being in all aspects of school life
