Job Introduction
The Corporate Debt Team within the Revenues & Debt Service has 2 fixed term contract vacancies for Finance Officers.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable team responsible for the issue and collection of the Council’s sundry debts.
Successful candidates will be responsible for undertaking a variety of tasks in connection with the raising and collection of debt along with the maintenance of records in accordance with financial procedures. Responsibilities include raising invoices, liaising with council departments, resolving queries, answering calls via a busy duty line, making contact to obtain payment of outstanding invoices and commencing recovery action if necessary.
Interested candidates should:
- have experience of debt recovery
- have experience of working in a financial environment
- have excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
- have a desire to provide excellent customer service and assist those in financial difficulties
- possess strong IT skills
- be able to work independently, accurately and meet deadlines
