Job Introduction


Do you have experience providing effective, high-quality support to Council committees, Member level bodies, appeal panels or partnership boards?

The Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Corporate Governance Service is a small, dynamic team responsible for administering the Council’s decision making and scrutiny processes, ensuring they are open, transparent and fully accountable.We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of the role of Councillors and how decisions are made within Local Government. While not essential, the ability to work confidently and effectively in a political environment is highly desirable.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines

The role also involves arranging and servicing school admission appeal hearings. Experience in meeting administration, including note taking and minute writing within a Local Authority or similar environment, is essential. Attendance at evening meetings is a required part of the role.
