The SEND Outreach Services consist of four established and highly regarded teams that cover:  Early Years, Autism Outreach, STEPs Complex Needs and Sensory Service. The Sensory Service comprises of two teams, the Deaf and Hearing Support Team and the Vision Impairment Support Team. 

The Sensory Service, Deaf and Hearing Support team is seeking a qualified, highly skilled Teacher of the Deaf to join the team. 

The Deaf and Hearing Support Team within our Sensory Service is a welcoming, dynamic team consisting of Qualified Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People, a Deaf Instructor and a Language Outreach worker.

We work with babies, children and young people diagnosed with a hearing loss from the point of identification/referral up to the age of 19. We work with families in the home, early years settings, maintained schools in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, post 16 settings and specialist settings.

As a service we are committed to promoting and improving opportunities, outcomes and experiences of the children and young people we support. We work in close partnership with families, professionals and organisations. The Borough hosts three Local Authority Resource Provisions (LARPs), and we have strong, well-established relationships with schools.

This role involves travel across the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Our base is in West Thamesmead, and being a car user would be advantageous.

Flexible hybrid working arrangements are available with this post (home and office based)

 An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
